Efficien’s patented process utilizes pyrolysis, the thermal and physical degradation of feedstocks in the absence of oxygen transforming them into other materials. This process is not combustion. Though pyrolysis heats up the feed material, it is in the absence of oxygen and does not consume the feed material.

Best-in-class operational experience backed by decades of technology development experience
Efficien owns and operates a patented process that thermally decomposes most hydrocarbon elastomer (rubber) wastes, with best-in-class experience in processing rubber from end-of-life tires. This unique process transforms these waste materials into renewable resources which can then be incorporated into valuable products.
Efficien has operated their full-scale single unit, continuous feed plant since 2015. Having over 4,000 hours of operating time and having processing over 2 million pounds of end-of-life tires – equivalent to over 16,500 truck or 66,500 car end of life tires – our team has exceptional ability to adapt our process to create products that optimize end-use applications. Our extensive operational experience and continuous feed operation put us in position to scale up to address both the 300 million discarded tires/year generated in the US and the large product outputs anticipated.
As a developer, Efficien’s thorough knowledge of their process allows them to work with clients to optimize these renewable resources to best solve the client’s application needs.
Efficien has tuned their liquid product for solving diverse problems in upstream, midstream and downstream oil sector applications. Field tests have demonstrated its efficacy in liquefying paraffins in heavy oils, bringing them back in solution and keeping them flowing both downbore and in field tanks. Efficien is working with a client on a downstream application to develop an industry disrupting technology to process and reclaim oilfield waste paraffins without heating or centrifuging.
Efficien is in the process of obtaining ISCC+ certification so that their process and products can be used by several businesses creating certified renewable products that address circular economy demands.
